Creating a meal from scratch is both challenging and delicious, much like playing "Stairway to Heaven" on a clarinet made out of a candy cane. Master meal melding with this Groupon.
The Mom (or Dad) and Me class helps kids develop confidence and have fun in the kitchen while preparing favorite dishes, such as mac 'n' cheese or spaghetti and meatballs. Each fun class culminates in a shared meal of their creations. In the two-hour adult cooking class, groups of 410 adult students prepare an entire meal from scratch, gleaning culinary skills, tips, and techniques along the way. Classes cover a wide range of cuisines, such as Italian cooking, sushi, burgers, or fish. At the end of every session, students share and enjoy each others culinary handiwork. Adult classes that involve cooking with wine are reserved for those aged 21 and older; all other classes are open to ages 18 and older.

Let's Cook Alaska's talented teaching chef, Josie McKinney, fell in love with cooking at a young age. By the age of 12, she was preparing Thanksgiving dinner for her family. Now, as a mother of four, she shares her joy of cooking by inviting students into her dream kitchen, where they develop culinary confidence by working with her recipe box full of diverse meal ideas. In her cooking classes, she aims to transform cooking from chore to adventure. Josies fun, hands-on teaching style encourages students to get their hands messy by trying techniques for themselves and clean by stuffing them into their friends mouths. While students prepare entire meals, Josie circulates among them dispensing tips. Classes stay smallaround 4 to 10 studentsto ensure lots of individual attention and extra servings to go around when the class sits down together to enjoy their creations. Menus rotate with a monthly theme, such as comfort food and international fare, prepped with fresh, local ingredients.
