Summit County is home to some of Colorado's most popular ski resorts, including Keystone and Breckenridge. The lifts will typically continue to run through mid-April, but you'll still be able to chase outdoor thrills well after the snow melts. As winter turns to spring, the hiking and mountain-biking trails open up, and streams fill with trout. There are millions of acres of protected forestland surrounding Summit County and five whitewater-rafting rivers within about an hour's drive.
You'll have access to this outdoor wonderland from one- and two- bedroom condos managed by Summit County Mountain Retreats. See the Fine Print for a full list of valid room types.
Summit County's condos grant views of snowy mountains, placid lakefronts, and thickets of pines, aspens, and firs. Though exact amenities vary from unit to unit, resort perks may include jacuzzis and heated underground parking, and domestic comforts often comprise kitchens decked out with dishes, cookware, and a full assortment of pie crimpers.
Available rentals include a two-bedroom condo at Arapahoe Lodge with a spacious living room warmed by a gas fireplace and a balcony overlooking Keystone's River Run Village. Within the resort below, an eight-person hot tub gurgles alongside a heated outdoor pool. Vacationers can also choose to unpack their bags in the recently remodeled one-bedroom condo at Silver Mill, which commands clear views of the chalets of River Run Village, the base area to the Keystone Ski Resort. At Silver Mill, three hot tubs cast plumes of steam into the mountain air, and a sauna defrosts chilled muscles.
The resort properties of Summit County Mountain Retreats sit amid the Rocky Mountain ridges of the Arapaho National Forest, a short distance from the Dillon Reservoir. Formed from a smaller natural lake, the Dillon Reservoir now covers the remains of the original town of Dillon. During colder months, visitors can carve ice-fishing spots or circumnavigate the shores via snowmobile or yeti-drawn sled. In summertime, hiking trails crisscross the verdant Colorado countryside, and some of the ski runs turn into mountain-bike trails.
