Astronaut cooks have made numerous attempts to wrangle hamburgers into space-ready meals, from dehydrated-pickle disks to vacuum-sealed burger bottles. Enjoy what our starry-eyed brethren never can with todays Groupon: for $6, you get $12 worth of comfort cuisine at Little Louie's Burger Joint and Soupery in Cambridge.
Little Louies Burger Joint and Soupery warms bellies with homemade meat patties, soups, sandwiches, and desserts. Huddled in a former diner from the '60s, the joint teleports diners back to simpler times, where freshly ground beef was obtained from local butchers, soups were seasonal, and pastries were prepared daily without cooking them with the heat emitted from a computer screen. Lunchers can fill out an order sheet specifying their perfect burger ($7.95$9.95), based in beef, turkey, chicken, or veggie and then stacked with a few out of the 20 toppers and slathered with mesquite aioli or mango sauce. The chalkboard lists a rotating sandwich special and soups like Italian tomato, meatball, and pasta.
Waterloo Region Eats featured Little Louie's Burger Joint and Soupery:
-   - The quirkiness of the Little Louies building, the pylon sign, and the surrounding gravel parking lot reminds me of the many road-side burger joints you pass on your way up to cottage country. However, the drive to Cambridge for these top quality burgers and fries is a lot shorter. And the flavour is a vacation in itself. Andrew Coppolino
