Before wintertime hibernation, bicycles forage and fill their inner tubes with enough sustenance to feed training-wheeled cubs come spring, a noble act that often leads to serious exhaustion. Help spin the spokes of life with today's Groupon: for $15, you get a bike tune-up at Retro City Cycles on Orange Avenue (a $39 value).
Retro City Cycles owners Jess and Dano Kinnee are experienced and passionate about the art of keeping two-wheelers up to speed. The cycle savants will nurse fatigued velocipedes back to tip-top shape through a veritable cornucopia of rehabilitative tinkering. Tune-up services include inflating tires to a proper PSI, tightening all parts, adjusting and lubing bearings, hubs, headset, bottom bracket, brakes, and derailleurs, as well as lubricating all cables, checking bolts for tightness, and giving the frame and wheels a quick bath. The mechanics will also make recommendations if any parts need replacement.
Expert mountain-bike racer Dano is a graduate of the Bill Woodall Bicycle Mechanics School, a DT Swiss-certified wheel builder, and certified as a United States Cycling Federation bicycle mechanic, a resume sure to impress even the surliest pudding magnate. Retro City Cycles is also an active member of many organizations, including the International Mountain Bike Association, the Ocala Mountain Bike Association, and the MS 150 Bike Tour.
