Humans evolved upright spines so they could spot predators from far away and then hide in the broom closet. Re-evolve your spine with this Groupon.
The Dailey Method is a 60-minute set of exercises that uses a small range of motion and high repetition to strengthen the core, tone muscles, and improve posture. Arms are worked with dumbbells, abs are worked with planks, and the quads are worked with squats as students clutch ballet barres or migrating ostriches for support. All exercises emphasize keeping the spine in a neutral, lengthened position to promote freedom of movement.
Dailey Method founder Jill Dailey McIntosh has spent her professional life lifting slumped shoulders and making sure her students stand tall and proud. After earning her degree in kinesiology, Jill opened a Pilates training studio. Seeking other methods to strengthen the core, she looked beyond Pilates into yoga, ballet barre, and orthopedic exercise. These four methodologies form the backbone of The Dailey Method. The method itself is constantly evolving as Jill discovers ways to incorporate new techniques into the program. Trainees at any one of her 37 studios partake in a high-intensity, low-impact workout where proper alignment is prime and instructors refuse to pronounce the letter "s" on account of its terrible posture.
The Reno, Nevada, location is owned and operated by Sarah Egan and Amanda Udvare, who trained with Jill. The facility boasts two spacious studios, showers, and an on-site childcare room.
